Political Pains.

Wow. Three posts in one day. And almost all of them about Politics. Not sure if thats a good thing or not since I don’t try to be a politically oriented site. But I guess today is all about pushing my political rant button.

Where started this one? Well thats simple. McCain. Not John McCain. His daughter. I was reading some article about her on Politico and I couldn’t help but wonder why nobody is pointing out the obvious. That if this wasn’t the female daughter of the failed Presidential Candidate who is also a outspoken member of the floundering GOP, you wouldn’t hear a thing about her. They play it up how she’s doing her civic duty. But in truth all of the things she has coming to her now as a result of her daddy being a well known leader and has absolutely nothing to do with any real talent of her own.

I mean really:

Quoted from Politico:
Turns out that a McCain did emerge from the 2008 election victorious — not the captivity-surviving, straight-talking, Palin-picking Republican senator from Arizona but his Bud Light-drinking, talk-show-appearing, insouciantly Twittering 24-year-old daughter.

“My cab driver is totally vibing me out,” Meghan McCain Twittered to her online devotees Thursday evening. “Just asked me if my cheekbones are real? Wtf, u can have fake cheekbones???”

Yep, that’s the one.

Madness of last week

So last week I was sitting at work and I was trying to focus on making myself care enough to get something done. I was finding it difficult however because one of the first things to happen when I got into work was to have my co-workers start commenting and complaining about a problem with a build that should never have happened. It was such a simple thing that people had repeatedly pointed out, so to have it actually happen anyway stopped me short.

Next it was to hear about the Somalian Pirates that have hijacked yet another ship over by Somalia that nobody will put the kind of effort into stopping that they should. Then you hear about Obama not following through with the transparency of government promise where Warrantless Wiretapping is concerned. Not only preventing the lawsuits that are trying to punish those who stepped on our Liberties during the Bush Administration, but helping to protect the people like Cheney as well.

I’m nervous where this is all heading. Between Daytraders who don’t understand the concern of long term investment (Here is good information on the whole process including some sound Predictions and suggestions) to Political face offs that are preventing anything useful from being put into place. I can’t help but be concerned where we are going to find outselves in the next few years.

ISP Wars, the Continuing Saga pt3

And so the battle continues. My day at home comes. I’m told that the technician will arrive sometime between 8am and 5pm so I need to be there. After informing my employers that I’ll be out I proceed to sit down and wait. I work on unpacking a small bit and I play a little bit on my offline computer. Mostly I just waste time and plan out what I’ll take care of when the technician finishes. I assume I won’t see him until 5:00pm because most times that is just how it works out. Hours roll buy and I have no sign from the technician. I’ve had bad experiences with scheduled appointments never making it to the schedule so I call the group about now, spend another hour on hold and double check that I am indeed scheduled to have a technician come by today. Fantastic.
